DIY: Anna Dress
Everyone, I am super excited to finally get my ideas out of my head and onto real bodies! This is the first of many collabs I will be doing with friends and family. I would like to introduce you to Anna! This dress is so adorable and works perfectly for her! She chose the print, and I’m glad it worked out so well! This ruffle dress was originally a Jacob shirt. Anyone know what I’m talking about when I say Jacob? RIP Jacob. Kidding, they’re still alive in Quebec, but it’s sad to see Canadian brands chased out of the rest of Canada. I used to work for Jacob when…

Jeans to Overalls
Oh my gosh, I’m almost afraid to say it, but I think Spring may actually be a thing here in Calgary. I’m crossing my fingers! I don’t think I can handle another weekend of snowfall! That would be ridiculously Calgary. T_T So, I’m hoping my #memademay project this week gets to see some sunshine and green grass. Unfortunately, this outfit has only known winter. This is another ‘pant to something’ project that is going to be similar to April’s DIY. You can check it out here. The only challenge I can see here is making sure that you have the right needle for denim. It took me a couple of…

Flannel Shirt to Skirt
So, I don’t know about where you are situated, but here in Calgary, winter has made a big return. *Insert ugly cry face here* Why?! Well, what can you do? I guess we can wear our favorite fall/winter clothes a little longer, that is if you’re looking at the bright side, or in this case, the snow-covered side… *queue booing here* Or, you can stay indoors and try your hand at remaking an old flannel top into a midi skirt! I prefer the latter. Let’s get into it! I would say this is a level 2 sewing challenge (out of 3). Level 4 patience challenge (out of 5). All the…

From Pants to Smock Dress
If you have a lot of pants just sitting in the closet, here’s one way you can give it a second life! Turn those pants into a smock dress! Smock dresses are generally worn in an art studio as an apron, but this is fashion! How to turn pants into a smock dress for life: Choose a pair of pants that are a few sizes too big; this will ensure that the finished dress will fit over your hips. I’m using a dress pant, with a plaid pattern. To start, seam rip the waistband, side seams and inseam. Remove the side pockets. Do not seam rip the front or back…
